The craze for cupcakes, pies, and other mini-portioned treats is on the decline as more traditional desserts, like wedding cakes, are making a huge resurgence in recent years. In 2016, we’re seeing exciting new trends that breathe new life to the wedding cake ritual; a tradition that has roots all the way back to the 18th century. In fact, the wedding cake is a highly symbolic part of a wedding. The wedding cake symbolizes the ‘breaking of bread’ so to speak and represents the joining of the bride and groom’s family and friends. Pretty cool, right?
